What was the name of the first car produced by Ford Motor Company in 1903?
Answer
Ford Model A (1903)
Answer
Ford Model A (1903)
The first car produced by Ford Motor Company in 1903 was the Ford Model A (1903).
This Model A was not the famous Model A introduced in 1927. Ford Motor Company began producing the earlier car after its incorporation in 1903, and the first production examples were assembled at the company’s Mack Avenue plant in Detroit. The car used a horizontally opposed two-cylinder engine and was offered in several body configurations.
Ford used letter names for several early models, so the sequence can be confusing. The 1903 Model A came before the Model B, C, N, and T. The later Model A, launched in 1927, was a completely different automobile and replaced the Model T.
The early Model A helped establish Ford as a manufacturer, but it was the Model T’s standardized mass production that transformed the company and the wider automobile industry.
