What was the name of Rachel Elnaugh's gift-experience company before she appeared on Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Rachel Elnaugh's gift-experience company was called Red Letter Days before she appeared on Dragon's Den.

Elnaugh co-founded Red Letter Days in 1989 with her then-husband, Neil Elnaugh. The business sold vouchers for experiences rather than conventional physical presents, helping popularise experience-based gifting in Britain.

Her success with the company led to her becoming one of the original investors on the UK version of Dragon's Den. She was the programme's first female Dragon and became closely associated with entrepreneurial confidence and the premium-gift market.

Red Letter Days later experienced financial difficulties and entered administration in 2005. The brand was subsequently acquired by fellow Dragon Peter Jones. That later rescue is why the company is sometimes associated with Jones, but Rachel Elnaugh was the original co-founder and the name was already established before the programme.
