What was the name of McDonald’s police character with a Big Mac-shaped head?

Officer Big Mac was McDonald’s police character with a Big Mac-shaped head.

Officer Big Mac belonged to the McDonaldland cast and was designed as a uniformed law-enforcement figure. His oversized head visually referenced McDonald’s signature sandwich, making the product connection clear even when the advertisement’s story focused on the fictional community.

The character demonstrates the way McDonald’s branding combined menu references with familiar social roles. McDonaldland included a mayor, police officer, pirate, thief, and other figures, allowing the company to build recurring narratives around its products and mascots.

Officer Big Mac is especially easy to confuse with Mayor McCheese because both characters had food-shaped heads. The distinction is their role and design: Officer Big Mac was the police character associated with a Big Mac, while Mayor McCheese was the town’s cheeseburger-headed mayor.
