McDonald's 2003 global brand campaign was called “I'm Lovin' It.”
The campaign introduced a unified international platform for McDonald's advertising and used the phrase across television, print, packaging, and other marketing. Its musical identity, including the familiar five-note signature, helped connect campaigns in different countries while allowing local executions to vary.
The wording is often confused with “You Deserve a Break Today,” an earlier McDonald's slogan from the 1970s. The two lines belong to different eras and reflect different advertising strategies: the older slogan emphasized a break, while “I'm Lovin' It” emphasized an immediate positive experience.
McDonald's adopted the campaign after testing and developing it across multiple markets. It became one of the company's longest-running global brand platforms and remains strongly associated with the modern McDonald's identity.
