What was the name of Frodo Baggins’s father in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth?
Answer
Drogo Baggins
Answer
Drogo Baggins
Frodo Baggins’s father in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth was Drogo Baggins.
Drogo was a Hobbit of Hobbiton and the son of Fosco Baggins. He married Primula Brandybuck, who was the daughter of Gorbadoc Brandybuck and belonged to the prominent Brandybuck family.
According to the family history in The Lord of the Rings, Drogo and Primula died in 2980 of the Third Age after a boating accident on the Brandywine River. Frodo was their only child and was orphaned at a young age.
Bilbo Baggins, Frodo’s older cousin and guardian, later adopted him as his heir. Some readers confuse Drogo with Dudo Baggins, who is a different Hobbit in the Baggins family tree and the father of Bilbo.
