What was the name of C.S. Lewis’s Christian apologetics book published in 1942?

The story behind the answer

C.S. Lewis’s Christian apologetics book published in 1942 was The Case for Christianity.

The book grew out of radio talks Lewis delivered for the BBC during the Second World War. The talks were later revised and expanded into book form. The Case for Christianity became the first part of the work eventually published as Mere Christianity.

The title can cause confusion because Mere Christianity is the more famous final collection, while The Case for Christianity was the initial book title. Lewis’s project was to explain beliefs shared across historic Christian traditions rather than argue for one particular denomination. Later editions combined this material with Christian Behaviour and Beyond Personality.
