What was the name of C.S. Lewis’s BBC radio-talk collection published in 1952?

The story behind the answer

Mere Christianity was the name of C.S. Lewis’s BBC radio-talk collection published in 1952. The book developed from broadcasts Lewis gave during the Second World War, beginning in 1941.

Lewis designed the talks to explain ideas shared by many historic Christian traditions rather than defend one denomination. He discussed morality, belief, Christian doctrine, and the transformation of character. The title refers to what Lewis regarded as common or central Christianity.

The material was first issued in parts under titles including Broadcast Talks and Christian Behaviour. Lewis later revised and combined the broadcasts into the book known as Mere Christianity. That publication history means the work is associated with both 1941–1944 radio talks and its 1952 collected form.

The Problem of Pain, Miracles, and Surprised by Joy are separate Lewis books. They are related to his religious writing, but none is the title of the BBC-talk collection.
