What was the name of Blackbeard’s sloop after Queen Anne’s Revenge was lost?

The story behind the answer

Blackbeard’s sloop after Queen Anne’s Revenge was lost was named Adventure.

Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, captured the French slave ship La Concorde in 1717 and renamed it Queen Anne’s Revenge. The large ship became his principal vessel during a period of operations in the Caribbean and along the North American coast.

In 1718, Queen Anne’s Revenge ran aground near Beaufort Inlet in present-day North Carolina. Blackbeard then used Adventure, a smaller sloop, while continuing to command a reduced group of vessels. Adventure was later involved in the encounter at Ocracoke Inlet in which Lieutenant Robert Maynard pursued Blackbeard.

The names can be confusing because Blackbeard commanded several vessels, and other pirates also used names such as Revenge and Ranger. Queen Anne’s Revenge is the best-known ship associated with him, but Adventure was the sloop he used after the larger vessel was lost. The wreck site of Queen Anne’s Revenge was identified off North Carolina in 1996.
