What was the name of the Spanish port Henry Morgan captured in 1668?

The story behind the answer

Henry Morgan captured Portobelo in 1668.

Portobelo was a heavily fortified Spanish port on the Caribbean coast of present-day Panama. It served as an important Atlantic outlet for treasure and trade connected to Spain’s American empire. Morgan attacked the port with a large buccaneer force in July 1668.

The assault demonstrated Morgan’s willingness to use surprise, intelligence, and difficult approaches rather than relying only on a direct attack against a fort. His men captured the town and demanded a ransom, making the raid one of his most successful early operations.

Portobelo is sometimes confused with Panama City, which Morgan attacked three years later. The two places were both in Panama but served different roles: Portobelo was a Caribbean shipping port, while Panama City was on the Pacific side of the isthmus.
