What was the first Pokémon Pokopia character to receive the title “Professor”?

Professor Tangrowth is the Pokémon Pokopia character who receives the title “Professor.”

Professor Tangrowth is a Tangrowth who studies the damaged environment in the post-apocalyptic Kanto setting. After Ditto finds an old Pokédex and assumes a human-like form, it meets Professor Tangrowth, who is investigating why humans and Pokémon disappeared.

The character’s title is part of Pokopia’s story identity, not a reference to Professor Oak from the mainline games. Tangrowth’s role is tied to environmental research and the restoration of habitats, matching the game’s focus on rebuilding a world for Pokémon.

Players may remember Tangrowth primarily as a species, but Pokopia gives this particular character a named narrative role. The title “Professor Tangrowth” identifies the story character rather than all Tangrowth generally.
