Japan defeated Great Lakes 3–2 in the third-place game of the 2026 Little League World Series.
The consolation game was played on August 30, 2026, at Howard J. Lamade Stadium. Japan scored three runs and Great Lakes scored two, giving Japan third place after both teams had lost their respective championship games.
Japan had lost 0–4 to Curaçao in the international championship. Great Lakes had lost 2–12 to Mountain in the U.S. championship. The third-place game brought together those two runners-up, with Japan winning by one run.
Japan’s representative was Joto Little League from Tokyo, while Great Lakes was represented by West Side Little League from Hamilton, Ohio. This score should not be confused with the 2026 championship, which Curaçao won 11–2 over Mountain, or with Japan’s 3–2 victory over Europe-Africa earlier in the tournament.
