The Australian Open’s single-day attendance record set on 17 January 2025 was 97,132.
That figure counts fans entering Melbourne Park across the day and night sessions, rather than attendance at one individual match. The record was established during the 2025 Australian Open, when unusually strong crowds filled the venue’s arenas and outside courts during the tournament’s second week.
Attendance records can be confusing because the Australian Open reports several different measures: a single session, a day/night total, the main-draw total and the full event total, which may include qualifying or other activities. The 97,132 figure refers specifically to the highest day/night attendance in tournament history at that point.
The 2025 tournament also set a new overall attendance record, with more than 1.2 million entries across the event. Melbourne Park has been the tournament’s home since 1988, replacing Kooyong, and its expanded facilities have helped the Australian Open accommodate increasingly large crowds.
