What was Levi Roots's birth name before he became known by his stage name?

Levi Roots's birth name is Keith Valentine Graham. He adopted the name Levi Roots as his public identity while building a career as a reggae musician and later as a food entrepreneur.

Roots was born in Jamaica and moved to the United Kingdom as a child. Music was central to his early public life, and he performed reggae before the success of his sauce business. His brand name combined his stage persona with a product story rooted in Caribbean cooking and Jamaican cultural influences.

His appearance on Dragon's Den brought the name Levi Roots to a much wider television audience. Because the entrepreneur, musician and brand all use the same stage name, viewers may not realise that his legal birth name is different. The full name is Keith Valentine Graham, not simply Keith Graham.
