What was Lamborghini's first production car?

The story behind the answer

Lamborghini's first production car was the Lamborghini 350 GT. It was a two-door grand tourer powered by a 3.5-liter V12 and officially entered production in 1964.

The 350 GT evolved from the 350 GTV prototype, which Lamborghini displayed at the 1963 Turin Auto Show. Engineers Giampaolo Dallara, Paolo Stanzani, and test driver Bob Wallace revised the prototype for road use, making its engine smoother and its design more practical. Carrozzeria Touring created the aluminum body using its Superleggera construction method.

The production car debuted at the 1964 Geneva Motor Show, and manufacturing began in May of that year. Lamborghini built approximately 120 examples before replacing it with the 400 GT in 1966. Its positive reception helped establish Lamborghini as a serious competitor to Ferrari. The 350 GTV is sometimes called the first Lamborghini, but it was only a prototype; the 350 GT was the first production model.
