Kelly Hoppen's professional specialty was interior design when she appeared as a Dragon on Dragon's Den.
Hoppen is a British designer known for a style combining neutral colours, clean lines and influences from East and West. Her career included residential, commercial and hospitality interiors, as well as product and furniture design.
She joined the Dragon's Den panel in 2013 and appeared as an investor during a period when the programme continued to refresh its line-up. Her design background gave the panel expertise in branding, products, presentation and consumer-facing businesses.
Interior design is not the same as architecture. Architects primarily design buildings and their structures, while interior designers shape the spaces and environments inside them. Hoppen's public career and her Dragon's Den role are both tied to the former field.
