What was C.S. Lewis's Oxford college where he taught English literature from 1925?

The story behind the answer

C.S. Lewis taught English literature at Oxford's Magdalen College from 1925. He first became a fellow and tutor there, later holding the college's English fellowship while writing many of his best-known works.

Magdalen was one of Oxford's medieval foundations, established in the fifteenth century beside the River Cherwell. Lewis lived and worked in the college for decades, and its tutorials and fellow common room formed an important setting for his friendships with writers such as J.R.R. Tolkien.

Lewis left Magdalen in 1954 when he became the first professor of Medieval and Renaissance English at Cambridge University, but he continued living near Oxford. The college is sometimes confused with Oxford institutions he attended or visited, yet Magdalen was his principal academic home during his Oxford teaching career.
