What title is given to the first game in the Assassin's Creed Chronicles trilogy?

The story behind the answer

China is the first game in the Assassin's Creed Chronicles trilogy.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China follows Shao Jun, an Assassin seeking revenge and the restoration of her Brotherhood in sixteenth-century China. The game uses a side-scrolling format rather than the fully three-dimensional open-world design associated with the main series.

China was released in 2015 as the first chapter of the Chronicles project. It was followed by Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India, which features Arbaaz Mir, and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia, which follows Nikolai Orelov.

The trilogy's compact titles can be confused with Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, another side-scrolling or portable-focused spin-off with a different protagonist and setting. The three Chronicles games are linked by their visual style and stealth-focused platforming, but each tells a separate historical story in a different region.
