What team drafted Brady Tkachuk in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft?
Answer
Ottawa Senators
Answer
Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa Senators drafted Brady Tkachuk in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
Ottawa selected Tkachuk fourth overall in the first round of the draft, held June 22–23, 2018, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The left wing had played college hockey for Boston University and was regarded as one of the draft’s most competitive power forwards.
Tkachuk brought a strong combination of size, physicality, net-front skill, and scoring ability. He also had an important hockey family connection: his father, Keith Tkachuk, was a longtime NHL star, while his older brother, Matthew Tkachuk, had been drafted by Calgary in 2016.
Brady signed with Ottawa later in 2018 and made the NHL roster immediately, scoring 22 goals and 45 points as a rookie. He became a central part of the Senators’ rebuild and was later named the team’s captain. A common mix-up is confusing Brady’s draft position with Matthew’s: Brady was Ottawa’s fourth-overall selection in 2018.
