What song plays over the opening credits of Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs?

The story behind the answer

“Little Green Bag” plays over the opening credits of Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.

The song was recorded by the Dutch band George Baker Selection and released in 1969. Tarantino uses it beneath the famous slow-motion walk of the color-coded criminals, creating a striking contrast between the group’s stylish presentation and the violence that follows.

The track’s appearance helped introduce it to a much wider international audience. Its placement also established one of Tarantino’s defining filmmaking habits: using carefully chosen older popular music to give scenes a distinctive rhythm and cultural texture.

The song is often confused with “Stuck in the Middle with You,” which appears later during the torture of Mr. Orange. That sequence is performed by Michael Madsen as Mr. Blonde and is one of the film’s most discussed uses of music, but it is not the opening-credit song.
