What single-word title did Elton John give to his 2019 autobiography?

The story behind the answer

Elton John gave his 2019 autobiography the single-word title Me. Published by Macmillan on 15 October 2019, the memoir follows his life from childhood as Reg Dwight in Pinner, North London, through international fame and family life.

The book was ghostwritten with journalist Alexis Petridis, who worked with John for three and a half years. It covers John's early musical influences, his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, his rise as a performer, and the creative partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin.

Me also discusses John's struggles with addiction, his response to the AIDS crisis, and the creation of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Later chapters describe his marriage to David Furnish, their children, and his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

A common mix-up is confusing the title with Rocketman, the 2019 biographical film starring Taron Egerton. Rocketman is not the name of John's autobiography; Me is.
