America250’s America’s Field Trip contest is designed for students in grades 3–12.
The multi-year contest asks students to respond creatively to a prompt about what America means to them. Submissions can include artwork and essays, giving elementary, middle-school, and high-school students different ways to express historical understanding and ideas about the country’s future.
The program’s broad grade range is intentional. It reaches students before college while allowing entries from several educational stages. Awardees can receive educational experiences connected with American landmarks and history, making the contest both a creative competition and a learning opportunity.
America’s Field Trip is distinct from America’s Startup, which is aimed at undergraduate college and trade-school students. It is also separate from America Gives, the volunteer-service initiative. Those similarly branded programs serve different age groups and purposes within the America250 portfolio.
