Simple tasks in Animal Crossing: New Horizons reward players with Nook Miles.
Nook Miles are a reward currency tied to the NookPhone’s achievement and activity system. Players earn them for everyday objectives such as catching fish, planting trees, selling items, crafting furniture, talking with villagers, or completing seasonal and travel-related goals. The system gives routine island activities a clear sense of progress without turning the game into a conventional level-based adventure.
Players can spend Nook Miles at the Nook Stop in Resident Services. Rewards include useful items, clothing, hairstyles, reactions, fencing, and Nook Miles Tickets. Those tickets allow travel to randomly generated mystery islands, where players can gather resources or meet potential residents.
Nook Miles are separate from Bells, the series’ traditional money. Bells pay for goods, services, and home loans, while Nook Miles primarily unlock special rewards and travel benefits. Happy Points, Play Coins, and Leaf Tickets belong to other games or systems, so they are not the currency earned through New Horizons’ simple-task program.
