OpenCritic reported that 97% of critics recommended Mario Kart World.
OpenCritic is a review-aggregation website that compiles professional game reviews and presents recommendation data. Its percentage is different from a traditional numerical review score and should not be confused with Mario Kart World’s Metacritic classification.
Mario Kart World received generally favorable reviews overall. Critics commonly praised its racing feel, controls, soundtrack, and new Knockout Tour mode, while some reviews raised concerns about interface choices, unlockables, online limitations, and the execution of Free Roam.
Famitsu used a different system: all four of its critics gave the game 9 out of 10. That result is not the same statistic as OpenCritic’s 97% recommendation figure. Both describe critical reception, but they measure it in different ways.
