Answer
The Blue Bomber
What nickname is Mega Man also known by in official descriptions? Mega Man is also known as “The Blue Bomber.”
The nickname reflects the character’s instantly recognizable blue armor and his long-running role as Capcom’s signature robot hero. It is commonly used in official promotional material, reference descriptions, and fan discussions, making it the standard alias associated with Mega Man.
Mega Man was created for Capcom’s 1987 action-platform game. In the original story, he begins as a humanoid robot assistant built by Dr. Light, then becomes a combat hero after Dr. Wily turns other robots against humanity. His blue appearance also helps distinguish him from the many Robot Masters he defeats.
The nickname should not be confused with “Rock,” his Japanese name and the name used in the original Japanese releases. “Blue Bomber” describes the character’s identity, while “Rockman” and “Mega Man” are regional names for the same protagonist.
