The network that is home to the TV show "Insecure" is HBO.
Created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore, Insecure grew out of Rae’s web series The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. HBO ordered the television adaptation in 2015, and the series premiered on HBO in October 2016 after an earlier digital debut through HBO Now and HBO Go.
The comedy-drama follows Issa Dee, played by Rae, as she navigates friendship, work, romance and identity in Los Angeles. Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis and Amanda Seales were among the principal cast members. The show became known for its sharp writing, contemporary music and detailed depiction of Black women’s experiences.
A common mix-up is OWN, which began airing the series in 2023, or Netflix, which added it later in the United States. Those were later distribution outlets; HBO was the original network and producer. Insecure ran for five seasons and ended in 2021.
