Which of these characters is NOT a member of the Barksdale Organization?

Omar Little is not a member of the Barksdale Organization in *The Wire*.

The Barksdale Organization is the powerful West Baltimore drug crew led by Avon Barksdale, with Russell “Stringer” Bell managing much of its business. D’Angelo Barksdale, Avon’s nephew, oversees a street-level operation, while Roland “Wee-Bey” Brice serves as one of Avon’s most trusted soldiers and enforcers. All three wrong options therefore belong to the organization.

Omar operates on the opposite side of that conflict. He is a stick-up man who robs drug dealers, often targeting Barksdale stash houses and crews. His feud with the organization becomes personal after Barksdale soldiers kill Brandon, Omar’s partner. Omar’s testimony and revenge campaign contribute to the pressure surrounding the Barksdale crew, but he never becomes one of its members.

A common mix-up comes from Omar’s temporary alliances and dealings with other characters. He sometimes cooperates with police or works alongside people who have their own connections to the drug trade, but those arrangements do not make him a Barksdale soldier. His identity throughout the series remains that of an independent stick-up artist and adversary.
