Slim Charles becomes the new kingpin after the Barksdale and Stanfield organizations collapse. A former Barksdale enforcer, he survives the street wars and eventually becomes a leading figure in Baltimore’s drug trade.
After Proposition Joe is killed by Marlo Stanfield, Slim Charles helps arrange Marlo’s downfall. He then shoots Cheese Wagstaff, avenging Joe and removing a rival within the New Day Co-Op. With Marlo forced out and the old organizations broken apart, Slim Charles emerges as one of the city’s most influential remaining drug bosses.
A common mix-up is choosing Marlo Stanfield: Marlo becomes the dominant kingpin after the Barksdales weaken, but he is not the successor after both major organizations fall. Cheese is also eliminated by Slim, while Bernard is a low-level Barksdale associate and Poot eventually leaves the drug trade. Slim’s final position is shared in practice with other Co-Op figures, but he is the canonical answer to this trivia question.
