What name is given to the playable Viking protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

The story behind the answer

Eivor is the playable Viking protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Eivor Varinsdottir leads a Norse clan from Norway to England during the ninth century. The character can be played as male or female, and the game presents the name Eivor for both versions. Players can also let the Animus choose between the available gender presentations, but the protagonist remains Eivor.

The story follows Eivor’s settlement in England and encounters with the Hidden Ones, the group that later becomes associated with the Assassin Brotherhood. Eivor’s relationship with Sigurd, the clan’s leader and Eivor’s adoptive brother, is central to the narrative.

Basim is another important character connected to the Hidden Ones, while Sigurd is a major companion. Neither is the game’s playable Viking protagonist. Valhalla was released in 2020 and includes both Norwegian and English settings.
