What name does the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Origins use?

The story behind the answer

The protagonist of Assassin's Creed Origins is Bayek of Siwa.

Bayek is a Medjay from the Siwa Oasis in Ptolemaic Egypt. As a Medjay, he serves as a protector and investigator, and his skills allow him to move between local communities, military authorities, and political powers. The death of his son Khemu becomes the personal catalyst for his campaign.

Bayek’s wife, Aya, is also a major playable character and an important founder of the Hidden Ones. Their efforts help establish the organization’s principles and operating methods. The Hidden Ones later develop into the Assassin Brotherhood known from other games.

Bayek is sometimes confused with Aya because both are central to the origin story and both have playable sequences. Khemu is their son, while Senu is Bayek’s eagle companion. None of those names identifies the main protagonist.
