The line “Are you a pothead, Focker?” is from the 2000 comedy film Meet the Parents.

The question is asked by Jack Byrnes, played by Robert De Niro, during his suspicious and increasingly uncomfortable conversations with Greg Focker, played by Ben Stiller. Jack is a former CIA operative who views Greg as an unsuitable boyfriend for his daughter, Pam. His interrogation of Greg supplies much of the film’s tension and humor.

Meet the Parents was directed by Jay Roach and became a major box-office success. Its title refers to Greg’s disastrous first visit to Pam’s parents, where misunderstandings involving a cat, a wedding ring, a septic system, and a lie detector spiral out of control.
