Cady Heron is from the movie Mean Girls.

She is the fictional protagonist of the 2004 teen comedy, played by Lindsay Lohan. At the beginning of the film, Cady has spent much of her childhood in Africa, where her parents work as research zoologists and educate her at home. Her family later moves to Illinois, and she enrolls at the fictional North Shore High School.

Cady’s unfamiliarity with American high-school social rules drives the story. She becomes involved with the Plastics—Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith—while also befriending Janis Ian and Damian. Her attempt to navigate the school’s cliques gradually turns her into someone much like the people she initially dislikes.

Mean Girls was written by Tina Fey and directed by Mark Waters. Fey drew inspiration from Rosalind Wiseman’s nonfiction book Queen Bees and Wannabes, while the screenplay created Cady’s specific storyline and characters.
