The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ set a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 6:44.97. Lamborghini recorded the time in July 2018 with test driver Marco Mapelli driving a camouflaged SVJ prototype around the 20.6-kilometre configuration of the circuit.
The result established a production-car lap record at the time and surpassed the Porsche 911 GT2 RS’s previous benchmark. The SVJ’s speed came from more than its naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12: it combined 770 PS with extensive carbon-fibre construction, four-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering and Lamborghini’s ALA 2.0 active-aerodynamics system.
ALA 2.0 uses electronically controlled aerodynamic channels and flaps to vary downforce and drag. Lamborghini claimed the system could increase downforce substantially over the regular Aventador SV while helping the car remain efficient on straights. Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres were used for the record run.
The time is sometimes written as 6:44,97 in European notation, but it represents the same result as 6:44.97. Later Nürburgring records changed the broader leaderboard; they do not alter the SVJ’s recorded lap.
