What item does Ditto find before transforming into a human-like form in Pokémon Pokopia?

Ditto finds an old Pokédex before transforming into a human-like form in Pokémon Pokopia.

At the start of Pokopia’s story, Ditto discovers its trainer’s old Pokédex in the abandoned world. The device includes a photograph showing Ditto beside its trainer, helping establish the emotional connection behind Ditto’s transformation.

After seeing the Pokédex and its image, Ditto uses its ability to imitate a human. This form allows the player character to interact with the environment, gather resources, construct objects, and help other Pokémon rebuild their habitats.

The item is an old Pokédex, not simply a Poké Ball or another piece of abandoned equipment. The discovery also raises questions about what happened to Ditto’s trainer and why humans left the region.
