What is the title of the opening theme song of the original Metal Gear Solid?
Answer
The Best Is Yet to Come
The Best Is Yet to Come is the opening theme song of the original Metal Gear Solid.
The song plays over the game’s ending credits and is performed in Irish by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh. Composer Rika Muranaka wrote the song, while Hideo Kojima selected its Celtic-influenced sound to complement the snowy Alaskan setting.
Its reflective tone contrasts with the game’s military thriller plot and helped give the ending a distinctive emotional identity. The song is one of the best-known musical pieces associated with the original PlayStation release.
It is often confused with Snake Eater, the vocal theme of Metal Gear Solid 3, or Way to Fall, a song associated with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. Those songs belong to different entries in the series.
