What is the title of the first Cormoran Strike novel by J.K. Rowling, writing as Robert Galbraith?
Answer
The Cuckoo’s Calling
The first Cormoran Strike novel by J.K. Rowling, writing as Robert Galbraith, is The Cuckoo’s Calling.
The novel was published in 2013 and introduces Cormoran Strike, a private detective in London, and Robin Ellacott, who becomes his temporary secretary and investigative partner. The plot begins after model Lula Landry dies in what police consider a suicide, prompting her brother to hire Strike to investigate.
The book originally appeared under the Robert Galbraith name, so its connection with Rowling was not initially obvious to readers. After the pseudonym was exposed, sales increased sharply. The Cormoran Strike series continued with The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave.
