What is the title of the chapter in The Hobbit where Bilbo meets Gollum?

The chapter where Bilbo meets Gollum in The Hobbit is titled “Riddles in the Dark.”

In this chapter, Bilbo becomes separated from the dwarves beneath the Misty Mountains and discovers a mysterious ring. He encounters Gollum, who lives on an island in an underground lake, and the two exchange riddles in a contest that determines whether Bilbo can escape.

The chapter is especially important because it introduces Gollum and the Ring before The Lord of the Rings was written. Tolkien later revised the chapter for the 1951 edition of The Hobbit so that the Ring’s connection to its larger history fit the developing mythology.

The title is sometimes confused with the name of Gollum’s home or with a general description of the underground scenes. “Riddles in the Dark” is the chapter title, and the riddle contest is its central narrative event.
