The title of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ paid DLC is Happy Home Paradise.

Nintendo announced the expansion in October 2021 alongside the free Version 2.0 update. Happy Home Paradise launched on November 5, 2021, for Nintendo Switch. It was sold separately, although it was also included with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

The DLC sends the player to a resort archipelago, where they join Lottie’s vacation-home design business. Players decorate holiday homes for villagers and eventually create facilities such as a school, restaurant, hospital, and café. New design techniques learned there can also be used on the player’s home island.

A common mix-up is Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, a separate Nintendo 3DS title released in 2015. Happy Home Paradise is its successor in concept, but it is an expansion for New Horizons rather than a standalone game. The DLC also added characters, furniture, lighting controls, room partitions, and other advanced decorating tools.
