Dustin’s surname in "Stranger Things" is Henderson. Dustin Henderson is one of Mike Wheeler, Will Byers, and Lucas Sinclair’s closest friends and becomes a key problem-solver in the group’s investigations.
Portrayed by Gaten Matarazzo, Dustin is introduced in the first season as the quick-witted member of the boys’ friend group. He is especially knowledgeable about science, technology, and Dungeons & Dragons, where he plays the bard. His curiosity often helps the friends interpret the strange events surrounding Hawkins and the Upside Down.
Dustin’s mother is Claudia Henderson, and the character is generally presented as an only child. His cleidocranial dysplasia is part of the character and is also connected to Matarazzo, who has the same condition. The condition affects bone and tooth development and is referenced in the series.
The distractors are other major characters’ surnames: Harrington belongs to Steve, Byers to Will, and Sinclair to Lucas. Dustin’s close friendship with Steve Harrington, especially from season two onward, makes those names particularly easy to confuse.
