What is the storage capacity of the Nintendo Switch OLED Model?

The story behind the answer

The Nintendo Switch OLED Model has 64 GB of internal storage.

Nintendo introduced the OLED Model in 2021 as a premium revision of the Switch hardware. Its internal storage is twice that of the original Switch and Switch Lite, which each include 32 GB. The additional space is useful for downloaded games, updates, downloadable content, screenshots, and video clips.

The OLED Model’s storage is still expandable. It accepts microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards, allowing owners to keep larger digital libraries without deleting installed software. Game saves are stored in the console’s system memory rather than on a microSD card.

Storage capacity is sometimes confused with usable free space. System software reserves part of the advertised 64 GB, so the amount available to users is lower. Physical game cards also do not always contain every update or downloadable expansion, meaning they can still require internal or removable storage.
