Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of "Stranger Things," are twin brothers.
The Duffer Brothers were born on February 15, 1984, and grew up in Durham, North Carolina. They began making films together as children, reportedly using a Hi8 video camera given to them by their parents. Their decision to work as a pair continued through film school and their professional careers.
They studied film at Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, graduating in 2007. Before creating Stranger Things, they wrote and directed the horror film Hidden and worked as writers and producers on the science-fiction series Wayward Pines.
Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in 2016 and made them internationally known. Matt and Ross share writing, directing, and producing responsibilities on the series, which draws on 1980s adventure, horror, and science-fiction influences. They are commonly described as identical twins, although the quiz only asks for the broader and undisputed sibling relationship: they are twins.
