What is the setting of Pokémon Pokopia’s post-apocalyptic story?
Answer
The Kanto region
Answer
The Kanto region
Pokémon Pokopia’s post-apocalyptic story is set in the Kanto region.
The game presents Kanto as a world abandoned by humans and made difficult for Pokémon to inhabit. The player’s Ditto must help restore habitats so Pokémon can return and live safely. This familiar region is therefore shown in a radically different condition from its usual role in Pokémon stories.
The plot begins with Ditto discovering an old Pokédex and meeting Professor Tangrowth, a Tangrowth who studies the damaged environment. As the player restores areas, the story gradually reveals what happened to humanity and why the landscape became inhospitable.
Kanto is often confused with other Pokémon regions because Pokopia includes Pokémon from Generations I through IX. The presence of later-generation species does not change the setting. The game’s narrative location is specifically a post-apocalyptic version of Kanto, the region associated with the original Pokémon games.
