The real name of the villain Mysterio is Quentin Beck. Beck is the original and best-known version of Mysterio, a Spider-Man enemy who uses illusions, special effects, robotics, and advanced technology to create seemingly supernatural threats.

Before becoming a criminal, Quentin Beck worked as a special-effects artist, illusionist, and actor. He turned his technical expertise into elaborate schemes designed to frighten the public, defeat heroes, and make himself appear powerful. He first appeared as Mysterio in The Amazing Spider-Man #13 in 1964.

Mysterio is sometimes treated as a single character, but the identity has been used by several villains. Daniel Berkhart, Francis Klum, and the later Mysterion have also adopted versions of the mantle. Even so, Quentin Beck is the canonical answer when a general Spider-Man question asks for Mysterio’s real name. Jake Gyllenhaal played Beck in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
