The exceptionally talented painter Smeargle is called Smearguru in Pokémon Pokopia.
Smearguru is a special Smeargle character encountered during Pokopia's restoration story. The character's identity builds on Smeargle's established connection with painting: Smeargle is a Normal-type Pokémon whose tail produces a paint-like substance and whose signature move is Sketch.
Pokopia uses familiar Pokémon traits as the basis for distinctive roles and personalities. In Smearguru's case, the artistic ability is emphasized as a defining talent rather than treated as a minor species detail. This helps populate the recovering world with characters who have individual identities.
Smearguru is not the species name and is not a general title for every Smeargle. The correct answer refers to the named Pokopia character, whose name combines the Pokémon's species with the idea of an expert or master artist.
