What is the name of the wizarding textbook credited to Newt Scamander in J.K. Rowling’s world?
Answer
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
The wizarding textbook credited to Newt Scamander is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
In the Harry Potter fictional universe, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a Hogwarts textbook written by Newt Scamander. Harry, Ron, and Hermione use it during their first year at Hogwarts, and the book appears as a school text in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Rowling later published a real companion book under the Newt Scamander name in 2001. Proceeds from the book supported Comic Relief, and the edition was presented as a reproduction of Harry’s school copy, complete with humorous handwritten notes from Harry and Ron.
The title is also used for the later film series beginning in 2016. The textbook, its fictional author, and the films are connected, but they are not the same publication.
