What is the name of the villainous race car in Pixar’s Cars 3?

Jackson Storm is the villainous race car in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm is a highly advanced next-generation racer who rapidly becomes dominant in the Piston Cup season. He represents a new era of racing technology and training, challenging the older generation that includes Lightning McQueen. His confidence and dismissive attitude make him the main competitive antagonist of the film.

The story begins after a series of modern racers displace established competitors. McQueen struggles to keep pace with Storm and eventually seeks help from Cruz Ramirez, a trainer whose background becomes increasingly important to the plot.

Jackson Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer. His black-and-blue appearance contrasts with McQueen’s familiar red design, making the generational rivalry visually clear. Cars 3 focuses more heavily on racing, retirement, mentorship, and the question of how an athlete can remain relevant after a new generation arrives.
