Cars 3 introduces Jackson Storm as Lightning McQueen's high-tech rival.
Jackson Storm belongs to a new generation of race cars built with advanced technology and modern training methods. His speed and confidence challenge Lightning McQueen, who realizes that experience alone may not be enough to remain competitive.
The conflict drives Lightning to the Rust-eze Racing Center, where he meets Cruz Ramirez and experiments with new training techniques. The story eventually shifts from a simple contest between an established champion and a younger opponent to a story about mentorship, adaptation, and passing knowledge to the next generation.
Armie Hammer voices Jackson Storm, while Owen Wilson voices Lightning McQueen and Cristela Alonzo voices Cruz Ramirez. Cars 3 was released in 2017 and serves as the third feature film in the Pixar Cars trilogy.
