What is the name of the Tangrowth who studies Pokopia’s environment?

The Tangrowth who studies Pokémon Pokopia’s environment is called Professor Tangrowth.

Ditto meets Professor Tangrowth after finding an abandoned world that humans and Pokémon can no longer inhabit safely. Professor Tangrowth has taken responsibility for studying what happened and investigating how the environment might be restored.

The character fills a role that resembles the research professors of earlier Pokémon games, but the subject is different. Instead of assigning a starter Pokémon or researching evolution, Professor Tangrowth focuses on environmental recovery, habitats, and the mystery of humanity’s disappearance.

The name is deliberately straightforward: it combines the academic title “Professor” with Tangrowth’s species name. That can make the character easy to overlook or confuse with Professor Oak, the famous researcher from the original Kanto games. In Pokopia, Professor Tangrowth is the key scientific guide for the game’s rebuilding mission.
