What is the name of the sword wielded by Altaïr in the first Assassin's Creed?

The story behind the answer

Altaïr wields the Sword of Altaïr in the first Assassin's Creed.

The Sword of Altaïr is the signature blade associated with Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad during the game's Third Crusade story. It is a one-handed weapon used for regular combat, parrying, and finishing attacks. Altaïr also carries a hidden blade, but that concealed weapon is separate from his sword.

The distinction matters because Assassin's Creed features several famous artifacts and named weapons. The Apple of Eden is a Piece of Eden with extraordinary effects, not a sword. Altaïr's Codex and the Masyaf keys are also important story objects, but neither is his primary sword.

The sword's name is tied directly to its owner in the first game's equipment and lore. Later games introduce other named blades and different weapon systems, so names from Ezio's, Connor's, or Edward's arsenals should not be substituted for Altaïr's weapon.
