What is the name of the short film featuring Scrat and an acorn in a time machine?

The story behind the answer

No Time for Nuts is the short film featuring Scrat and an acorn in a time machine.

The 2006 short follows Scrat after he discovers a time machine and uses it to pursue his beloved acorn through different historical periods. Each attempt creates a new variation on the character’s central conflict: Scrat can reach the acorn, but circumstances prevent him from keeping it.

No Time for Nuts was produced by Blue Sky Studios and connected to the Ice Age franchise. It was released with the home-video edition of Ice Age: The Meltdown and later received major animation recognition. The short uses minimal dialogue, relying on physical comedy, rapid visual changes, and Scrat’s increasingly desperate reactions.

It is distinct from Gone Nutty, an earlier Scrat short, and from Scrat’s Continental Crack-up, which was released before Continental Drift. Those similarly titled shorts are a frequent source of confusion.
