Entrepreneurs present their businesses in the den on the British television programme Dragon's Den.
The den is the programme’s signature pitch setting. Entrepreneurs enter, state their funding request and explain the business to the investor panel. The room’s name supplies the show with its central metaphor: the investors are dragons, and the entrepreneur must face them while defending the proposal.
The pitch then develops through questions about turnover, costs, margins, sales channels, intellectual property and company valuation. A dragon can make an offer, negotiate or decline to invest. The dramatic setting gives the business discussion a recognisable television structure.
“Boardroom” is strongly associated with other business reality programmes, while “pitch room” is a generic description rather than the show’s canonical name. The programme’s title and language consistently use “the den” for the presentation space.
